Food and drink are very important at Casa Da Paz. Locally sourced seasonal ingredients are used whenever possible.
Breakfast is served inside in the winter, on the terrace in the spring and autumn and in the patio in the summer.
Breakfast is continental with a selection of local cured meats, cheese, home made semi-dried tomatoes, eggs, jams, pastries, fresh orange juice, fruit and a selection of local bread.
Breakfast is changed on a daily basis with different cheese, fruits, pastries and egg dishes.
Take a night off from driving out to a restaurant and experience the tranquillity of eating on the terrace enjoying the sunset.
Dinner is available on request. Portugal has some of the best meat, fish, seafood, fruit and vegetables in the world. Meat is still farmed traditionally.
Cows, sheep and goats freely graze in the surrounding area, fish are caught in the sea and Guadiana and are sold in the local markets. Vegetables and fruit are fantastic here, local supermarkets still buy from local producers.
It is a pleasure to use fresh local ingredients that are still produced in the traditional way. These ingredients are used to cook Mediterranean style cuisine, based on the best of Portuguese, French, Italian, Greek and North African cuisines.
There is no menu, we discuss in the morning what you like to eat and then I go to the market to get the freshest ingredients.
There is also a BBQ and outdoor oven which you are welcome to use if you like to cook for yourselves. You have the use of a fridge and a cupboard for your own food.
